   Tell us what is happening with your roof: a leak, storm damage, an old roof or a new project.

2. Get connected to a local roofer

   Your call goes to a roofing company that serves your area.

3. Get an inspection and estimate

   The roofer explains the options. Ask for a written estimate and proof of license and insurance before any work starts.

Who you will be talking to

Roofing Captain does not employ roofers and does not perform roofing work. When you call, your call is answered by or forwarded to an independent, third-party roofing company that serves your area. Those companies may pay a fee for the referral. Calling is free for you.

Before you hire any roofer

• Ask for the company's license number (where your state or city requires one) and proof of liability and workers' compensation insurance.
• Get a written estimate that lists materials, tear-off, disposal, permits and the schedule.
• Ask who pulls the permit and whether an inspection is required.
• Read the warranty: manufacturer coverage for materials and the roofer's own workmanship warranty.
• Do not pay the full price up front.
